In some countries, it was said that vampires came to the living world with the intention of sucking the souls of sinners so that they were prevented from committing more sins.
Count Dracula as we know it was born of a very fertile mind, a lady who suffered from mental disorders told her husband that had a dream about a man who drank the blood of the most beautiful women to remain young forever. Her husband was a writer who used the said dream and wrote the book that would lead to success with the film "Conde Drácula".
